In November we took a weekend trip to visit Vanessa, Chad and their sweet baby girl Audrey. We couldn’t believe that we had not been to Ft. Worth since their wedding almost 2 1/2 years ago! It has been so hard making weekend trips just because over the past few years with my work schedule, so it was really, really nice to go see them and their precious new baby and adorable home. At the time of our visit, Audrey was about 4 weeks old. She is so sweet and they are a very happy little family!
Hudson kept going over to the gate to visit Cooper and Clancy, their dogs. He would bark at them which was pretty cute. Jon and Chad also hung their new flat screen TV on the wall and Hudson tried to give them a hand!
During the afternoon while Vanessa, Chad and Audrey were resting inside, we spent a lot of time playing in their front yard with Hudson. He loved playing in the grass, looking at the flowers, rough housing with dad and most of all collecting pecans!
Saturday night they took us to dinner at a great burger joint called the Love Shack. Yummy! It was also Audrey and Hudson’s first live music experience. Hudson loved it and even danced a little for us.
It was so great to spend a relaxing weekend with my dear friend. Hoping it won’t be so long before we get back up there to stay with them!
Jon’s best friend Chris had just proposed to his girlfriend Mandy that Friday night, so they drove to Ft. Worth on Sunday so we could all have lunch together. We are SO HAPPY for Chris and Mandy and it was great to see them for lunch. (Hudson had fun messing with his Uncle Ginger’s sunglasses. I’m sure his Uncle Ginger will teach him all kinds of troublesome things as he gets older!)
After lunch with Chris and Mandy, we took Hudson to the Ft. Worth Zoo which was awesome! We only spent an hour or so there but it was just enough for our little man. We were entertained by the monkeys and saw all kinds of great animals. Hudson is really into animals right now so it was fun to point out all of the different ones to him that we’ve been talking about at home and reading about in his books.
This monkey was really fun to watch. He was swinging all over the place!
When he saw the zebras he made the sound like we’ve taught him for a horse. Other than the stripes, I can see how the zebra looks like a horse. :)
He called the Bobcat a kitty….so precious because he was right….a bobcat is just a really big kitty. :)
Can’t wait for more trips to the zoo in the future!
