Vacation Here We Come!

Before we found out we were pregnant, we were planning to take a trip this Spring maybe to Europe. We've been wanting to do that for the past couple years but to do it right would need to take 2-3 weeks off work which hasn't been possible. So we thought let's just pick one country in Europe and go there for a week this Spring. We were starting our research when we found out we were pregnant. We could still go to Europe, but decided to save a few vacation days and go somewhere in the U.S. We thought about D.C., San Diego, San Francisco, or another cool city we've never seen. Neither one of us seemed overly excited though when talking about it. A couple weeks ago we were at our favorite little mexican food place and I was enjoying a virgin pina colada which made me think of the beach and a tropical vacation. At that moment, I knew a tropical trip was the way to go! Luckily, Jon was on board too and liked the idea of relaxing on the beach, reading books, snorkeling, and soaking in the rays--well that last one is really my desire more than his...his pale self doesn't enjoy the sun as much as I do :)

So we just booked our trip last night to go to Cozumel in May for 5 days! We CAN'T wait for our pre-baby trip, or as I've heard some people call them, our "Baby-Moon"

13 week Sonogram!

We got to have another sonogram last week! We were so excited to see how our little one has grown in the past month. We were shocked to be able to clearly see our baby's face. The profile just melts my heart. It was also neat to see the baby moving around like crazy...we may have a little dancer on our hands! We also have made our appt to find out the sex of the baby for Thursday, April 29th. Can't wait!!

Welcome Ardynn Jessee Lewright!

Brittany and Brent had their second beautiful baby girl last week on Tuesday, March 9th! We are so thrilled for the growing Lewright family and Ardynn is an angel. I am so excited to go home in the next couple of weeks to visit them. You can tell by the pictures too that Grier is really excited about her new little sister!

John Mayer Concert

Last Monday we went to see John Mayer in concert. I had been looking forward to the show for a few months and we had a great time. It was an awesome show! He mostly played songs from his two most recent cd's. Before the show, we met up with Courtney, Roger, Adam and Kristi for dinner at Sholz Beer Garten which was fun. Jon and I agreed we want to try and go to a few more concerts before the baby comes in September. Gotta keep my eyes peeled for upcoming shows!

Catching up with College Pals

One of my college roomates, Ricky came to town a couple weeks ago and it was so great to see her! The last time we've seen each other was at my wedding almost three years ago! Her parents always loved Austin and were actually renting a house here for the month so we got to see them too. Also, our friend John came in from Dallas. Nicole, Joey and Robin all live in Austin still, so we all got together for dinner and drinks. We went to Manuel's downtown which was very tasty and then went to Cuba Libre.  I haven't been much for wanting virgin drinks when we've gone out to eat, but I did have a virgin Mojito at Cube Libre that was great! I've found my new non-alcoholic adult beverage of choice!

Snow in February

I know that Houston had snow earlier in the year, and then Dallas definitely had snow recently, so I was excited that Austin got a little snow too! This was a few weeks ago and I was happy that it was my day off so I could stay in an be cozy all day! Snow is so pretty, but I'm happy to only see it in Texas every once in awhile! The cats enjoyed looking out the window all day and Kaiser was super nervous to go outside (he's a major weenie when there is bad weather). He finally couldn't stand it anymore and caved and went outside. I think he actually liked the snow once he got out in it!

Cirque du Soleil show in February

In February, we got to go see an awesome Cirque du Soleil show- Allegria. I absolutely love Cirque du Soleil, and anytime they are in Texas I have to make sure and see them. We had a big group....my mom and Gene came to town as well as his two daughters...Anne with her fiance Andrew, and Malia with her rommie Karla. Julie and Jarrett were able to come from Corpus and Jon's parents were in town from Boerne. We all had a great time at the show together!

The first couple months of my pregnancy I've had a really hard time finding foods that sounds appetizing. We were going to a seafood restaurant for dinner after show and I was secretly super nervous about finding something to eat since fish did not sound good at all. I had pretty much decided on a baked potato, but I surprised myself by ordering the special...a combo of lobster, scallops and stuffed shrimp. I was shocked that it sounded good, but very happy at the same time! (Happy to say that now my appetite is getting more back to normal and lots of food sound good...maybe too good!)

Our exciting news!

Jon and I are so excited to share that we are pregnant and expecting our first baby! We are due on September 11th and couldn't be more thrilled! We just had our second doctor's appointment yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat again for the second time which was amazing! Our first doctor's appointment was on February 2nd and we got to have a sonogram that day and see our baby, see the fast heartbeat and hear the heartbeat. It was awesome!

Here is our first Sonogram picture from February 2nd

We will definitely keep you posted on how things are progressing with our pregnancy and appreciate your thoughts and prayers for a smooth pregnancy and a healthy baby!
