I'm a little behind on posting, but wanted to give an update about the wonderful trip we just had to Jamaica. We are refreshed, relaxed and recharged! Negril, Jamaica is beautiful and we enjoyed our 6 day visit, but wish we could have stayed longer. We were extremely pleased with our choice to stay at the
Country Country Beach Cottages. It was exactly like we had pictured it. Very private, cozy, authentic, close to the beach and just pretty much what we were hoping for. This time of year is the slow season for Jamaica, so we were 1 of 3 couples staying at the cottages that week. This made it even more quiet and relaxing. All of the employees were so friendly and welcoming and called us by name which was a neat experience compared to other vacations we've taken together.
We basically spent a lot of time under the umbrella at the beach, swimming in the gorgeous, calm waters, snorkeling, reading, and relaxing. We tried some very yummy Jerk chicken at several different local hole in the walls and had some very nice dinners at our hotel and a few other local hotels:
The Rockhouse Hotel and
Catcha Falling Star. One night we went to
Rick's Cafe which is famous for their beautiful sunsets and cliff diving. Jon gave the cliff diving a try and jumped from 35 feet! We went on a tour of the
Appleton Estate Rum making plant and a scenic drive through the Jamaican hills. Luckily, we love Red Stripe, because that is definitely the drink of choice there, and we had our fair share! I took like 600 pictures, but narrowed them down on Walgreens. If you want to see them go to the following link. It may make you create a login and password, but it takes 2 seconds...
