We Love Halloween

Jon and I both love Halloween. We are getting ready for our Halloween party on the 24th and are trying to get our costumes together. This is our third year to have this party and we have had so much fun with our friends and family the past two years! I think it's fun when everyone gets into their costume, and our group of friends does for sure! The first year Jon and I dressed up as hippies. Last year we were Dorothy and the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. This year, we have an idea...but it still needs some work...You'll just have to wait and see!

Kaiser the Hot Dog with his friend Rollick the Pimp! I love Rollick's Pimp hat...it was hilarious!

Couples Shower for Steven and Meghan

Our friends Steven and Meghan are getting married in a couple of weeks. This weekend we and several of our other friends hosted a couples shower for them at our house. It was a casual and fun evening and we are looking forward to their wedding on October 11th!

Visit from Grandma

Jon's Aunt Lynette brought Jon's grandma to Austin on Sunday to see the 3 grandkids that live here. They went to see Rebecca and Kirk, then Patrick and then came up to our house. We had a quick dinner with them and then they headed back to Kerrville. It was great to have them for a quick visit!

Julie and Jarrett's visit for the UT/Tech game

Julie and Jarrett got tickets to the UT/Tech game from a friend, so they came in for the weekend and stayed with us. It was so good to see them and hang out! While they were at the game, Jon and I met up with some of our friends at Scholz's Beer Garden downtown to watch the game. We had a great time...especially since UT won! Then afterward we all met up at Kerbey Lane for some delicious Kerbey queso and pancakes! It was a really fun night and reminded me of good college times!

At home before the game

Dave, Jon and Christina...all wearing white/gray showing no allegiance to any team. (Dave and Christina went to LSU, and Jon's polo actually did have A&M on the arm...one guy yelled at Jon when we were walking to Sholz's: "You're at the wrong game man!")

Dinner with an old friend

One of my best friends from college, John just moved back to Texas this summer. He graduated from law school and took the bar and is now living in Austin. We met him and Nicole for dinner at Z'Tejas the other night and had a great time catching up!

Our Jamaica Trip

I'm a little behind on posting, but wanted to give an update about the wonderful trip we just had to Jamaica. We are refreshed, relaxed and recharged! Negril, Jamaica is beautiful and we enjoyed our 6 day visit, but wish we could have stayed longer. We were extremely pleased with our choice to stay at the Country Country Beach Cottages. It was exactly like we had pictured it. Very private, cozy, authentic, close to the beach and just pretty much what we were hoping for. This time of year is the slow season for Jamaica, so we were 1 of 3 couples staying at the cottages that week. This made it even more quiet and relaxing. All of the employees were so friendly and welcoming and called us by name which was a neat experience compared to other vacations we've taken together.

We basically spent a lot of time under the umbrella at the beach, swimming in the gorgeous, calm waters, snorkeling, reading, and relaxing. We tried some very yummy Jerk chicken at several different local hole in the walls and had some very nice dinners at our hotel and a few other local hotels: The Rockhouse Hotel and Catcha Falling Star. One night we went to Rick's Cafe which is famous for their beautiful sunsets and cliff diving. Jon gave the cliff diving a try and jumped from 35 feet! We went on a tour of the Appleton Estate Rum making plant and a scenic drive through the Jamaican hills. Luckily, we love Red Stripe, because that is definitely the drink of choice there, and we had our fair share! I took like 600 pictures, but narrowed them down on Walgreens. If you want to see them go to the following link. It may make you create a login and password, but it takes 2 seconds... Sarah and Jon's Jamaica Pictures

It was a wonderful trip and we are so happy we were able to go. Here are some of our favorite pictures.
