Update on Hudson's Nursery

So we are working on putting Hudson's room together. We are going to make our guest bedroom his room and then we will turn our office into the guest bedroom. So right now, I am going through all kinds of stuff in those two rooms and cleaning out a lot of old junk I've hung onto for too long. Below are pictures of things for his room.

This is his furniture. We've already got it waiting in our garage for it's permanent home in his nursery. The two dressers came already assembled in gigantic boxes, but we do have to assemble the crib. It is a dark espresso colored wood and we really like it!

This is the glider/rocker/recliner that we ordered, but we didn't get it in green. We ordered in a tan/mocha color. It is soooo comfortable. It has a gliding/rocking movement, it swivels and then it is an actual recliner. We've decided to put it in our living room since Hudson's room is a little bit on the small side and it would be a pretty tight fit to put this in his room.

This is his bedding. I can't wait to get it in...it should have been delivered last week but the fabric was still on backorder, so we should get it this next week. I love the different shades of blue with the sage green and navy. We think it is going to look really good with the espresso furniture
Here are some paint samples that we got. We are thinking of installing chair rail in the room and then painting the top half of the room the sage green color and then doing vertical stripes on the bottom half. We may also add a brown colored stripe in there too...we'll just have to play around with it and see what looks good.

I am anxious to finish the cleaning out of the rooms so we can get started on chair rail and paint and then get the furniture in the room. We can't wait to get his room all ready for him!

We Picked a Name!

After tons of lists being made and discussed about baby names, we've decided on what our little boy's name will be and we are soooo excited!

Hudson Scott Lamb

We both love it and can't wait to meet him! Hudson is a name we had on our list the whole time and have liked for awhile and finally this week we agreed that it was the perfect name for our baby boy. Scott is Jon's middle name and I thought that would be so sweet to give our little boy the same middle name as his Daddy!

We have been excited about him the whole time, but now that he has a name, for some reason I am even more excited! It's fun to be able to call him by his name when we are talking about him (which is all the time!)

And some big news is that Jon got to feel Hudson move for the first time the other night! He's seen my belly move from Hudson kicking and moving around but a couple nights ago when he was moving a lot I told Jon to put his hand on my belly and just wait to see if he would move...and he did and Jon got to feel it! It was a cool moment for both of us :)

2 more Cozumel Pics

On our jeep tour they had a guy take some pictures of us and we bought them. I think the jeep picture is great but the snorkeling picture cracks us up....we look so serious that you'd think we weren't having any fun! Don't worry...we were having a good time!

Babymoon in Cozumel

Last week we went on a fantastic trip to Cozumel, Mexico. We stayed at the Occidental Grand Cozumel Resort and really liked it. I am so glad we made the decision to get away before the baby gets here in September...and I would highly recommend to anyone having their first baby to do some type of trip beforehand. The second trimester is also such a good time...I feel so good right now and being pregnant caused no problems with the trip (other than having to get virgin drinks instead of the real deal!)

We really just spent most of our time relaxing and taking it easy at the resort and laying by the beach or pool and just reading our books. Jon did some snorkeling off the beach near our hotel and one afternoon we painted some pottery. We love to sleep in when we are on vacations and we definitely got caught up with some great rest! And thankfully, my tastebuds for drinking coffee are finally back! I love coffee, but throughout the pregnancy it has not sounded good at all. A couple weeks ago though I had some and it was good, so I bought some decaf at home and have been easing back into drinking it. I think a vacation without coffee just isn't right, so I was happy to be able to enjoy my decaf coffee each morning at breakfast during the trip. Each night we had dinner at a different restaurant at the resort and we had some great meals with fantastic service.

One day we did get out for an excursion. We went on a tour where we got to ride in jeeps and Jon drove ours. They took us snorkeling, to a Mayan ruin, a tequila place, lunch along the beach, to see some crocodiles and then to a light house. It was very fun and nice to see the pretty island of Cozumel. We upgraded our room to the Royal Club, which basically meant our room came with some extra perks and we are so glad we did. We had access to a separate restaurant that only was for people staying in one of the two royal club buildings and we even had our own smaller pool that we used a couple times. Instead of eating at the buffett for breakfast and lunch each day, we ate at that little restaurant and for most of the meals that we had there, we were the only people and got full attention from the very nice waitstaff. We also could order room service which was fun. They even turned down our sheets and brought us chocolates at night. On our last night after we got back from dinner, they had delivered champagne to our room which was very nice. And of course we had to have a toast, but don't worry...my glass just had a baby amount of champagne:)

All in all, we had a wonderful time and it was so nice to get away and relax without worrying or talking about work or things we need to do to get ready for the baby. But we did have some fun talking about the baby and how we are looking forward to his arrival soon. I've also been feeling him move around more often and Jon got to see my belly move from the baby for the first time! It made us both so happy that he got to see that movement a few different times!!

Here are some pics from our fun trip...
