Last Week's San Angelo visit

This year for Thanksgiving, we are going to Boerne to spend it with Jon's family. So, I decided to go home last week to spend a couple days visiting my parents, and Julie took off work and did the same. It was such a nice visit home and I am soooo glad I went. One of Julie's BFF's Megan just had a baby a couple weeks ago and we got to meet him. Walker Presley Carroll was just absolute perfection! I am so happy for Megan and Dan and I loved getting to snuggle with Walker. Another one of Julie's BFF's Lindsey was also in town with her adorable little girl, Dagny. They were visiting from Wisconsin, and I was so happy to get to see them as well. Dagny is about 14 months old and is a major cutie pie!! Brittany and adorable Grier hung out with us too. They came over to my mom's and helped us start decorating the Christmas tree. Grier was very helpful and particularly favored the bottom right portion of the tree for all of her ornaments. Brittany is expecting her second baby in the Spring and I am so happy for her, Brent and Grier! We enjoyed a yummy dinner with Mom and Gene at a really good restaurant called The Grill. The owner/chef was on the TV show Hell's Kitchen! We also got to play cards with Mimi and Papa (and we kicked Papa's butt, and he was suprisingly a pretty good sport!) All the girls had lunch at a great Hamburger joint that one of my good friend's from high school opened up. And I also got to check out Brittany and Brent's house that is going through some remodeling right now. Tuesday night Julie and I stayed with Dad and Susan. We got to meet my dad's new "guard dog" for the shop, and then we cooked dinner and had Julie's mother in law, Sharon over. Phew...it was a busy couple days!! But much needed time with the family. I love you guys!

Fun Date Night

Jon and I had a fun date Saturday night....Japanese food and sushi followed by seeing the second Twilight movie: New Moon! We'd been wanting to try this restaurant, Hayashi that is near our house for awhile that Taryn and Seth really like and we finally did. We really liked it and it's in the same shopping center as the movie theater we go to, so after dinner we just walked a few steps over to the theater to get in line to watch New Moon. We were cracking up because we were surrounded by nothing but teenie boppers. At one point while waiting in line, I overheard a guy in front of us who appeared to be about 16 or 17 say to his friend: "Dude, I feel like such a douche-bag coming to this movie!" To which his friend said, "Yeah man, I know." It really made me giggle, because they obviously were only there because their little girlfriends were just dying to see the movie. Overhearing this, I thought to myself for one minute..."Hmm, I wonder if Jon feels like a douche-bag being here, because let's be honest, I'm the one who really wanted to see the movie." I don't think he felt like that, but I do know that I probably enjoyed the movie more than he did....especially since I read all the books. So if you are wondering if the movie is good or not, I know you will like it if you have read the books. If you haven't read them, I think this one is better than the first movie, but nothing to win an award for. I just really like seeing books made into movies though...even though the books are almost always better. But anyway, it was a really fun date night with Jon, and if you are reading this and you are in a relationship, and you haven't been on a date together in awhile, you should plan one right now! I know many of our friends are starting to have kids, or our jobs can be time consuming and things can get really busy, but I think it is so important to make it a priority to have a date night every now and again!  So go plan one, right now!

Interesting Gadget

My friend Jordan had this on her blog, so I thought I'd try it out. It takes the most commonly used words from your last 7 posts and arranges them for you. Click on the image below to make it bigger. And you can go to http://www.wordle.net/ to create your own...it takes just a few seconds. Random, but kind of cool.

Wordle: October

A Busy Month...but a Great Month

October was a crazy busy month...but it has been busy with good things! My mom came to visit and Jon went to Dallas for the A&M/Arkansas game. We caught up with Aunt Beth and Cousin Scarlett and did some Babysitting for Angela and Mikel's anniversary. Jon had his second Oyster Race with John Hartnett and Dave Wallace and we went to Steven and Meghan's wedding. We went to my hometown for my 10 year high school reunion and then came back to get prepared for our big Halloween party. My dad, sister and brother in law got to come in town for the big party and we all had an awesome time. Then Jon's birthday was at the end of the month and we had friends over for dinner followed by his parent's visiting us on Halloween and they got to stay the night. Then earlier this week I hosted a Girls' Night/Jewelry party at my house, which was great fun. Needless to say, I am officially pooped. We had some really great times with our friends and family this past month, and we are so grateful for all the wonderful people in our lives. We really are very, very blessed and have so much to be grateful for.

Jon's Birthday...and Vanessa and Chad were able to suprise everybody. They moved to
Fort Worth this summer and we miss them!
