A Great Sunday Evening

On my way home from work yesterday I was in a funky mood, but I drove by a very pretty field with bluebonnets and thought it would be nice to go check it out and take a few pics (and maybe my mood would perk up). Of course, we are nerds and brought our "kid", Kaiser and took pics of ourselves since we didn't have someone to take them of us. Then I thought of the perfect thing to help a gal snap out of a funky mood....dinner and margaritas at Z'Tejas...one of our favorite restaurants. We had a fun meal with lots of laughs and my favorite Chambord Margaritas! Then we stopped by a park on our way home and found a good spot to come back for bike riding or fishing. And then to top off the evening I was looking through the movies on demand and like to watch previews. I was trying to watch the preview for a movie and accidentally pressed the button that purchases the movie! Oops....so we randomly watch Frozen River with Melissa Leo...it was actually okay...very intense though. So the funky mood got turned around real quick and we ended up having a really fun and nice Sunday evening.

Yes, we realize we are dorks taking pictures with our dog in the bluebonnets....but hey, it was fun!

Chambord Ritas...yummy

Jon had me cracking up at dinner....I can't even remember why, but sometimes a good laugh just feels so nice!

There's a first time for everything

I love a good cup of coffee with my fat free vanilla creamer in the mornings. One cup a day, never fails. If creamer is out, milk will work too. Today is a bit of a coffee oops......because we are out of creamer AND milk. So instead of skipping my coffee today, I have taken the plunge and am drinking it BLACK with splenda. For all you hard core coffee drinkers out there, this makes me sound like a whimp, but Jon, Mom, and Brittany know this is a big step for me! And guess what, it's not too bad!

Easter in Boerne

We went to Boerne for Easter and got to spend some time with Jon's family. It was the whole crew from his mom's side minus a couple a couple of cousins. We had a great time and always love visiting with his parents. (And also Jon's dad makes the best pancakes...thanks Mark!) Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Sweet Baby Girl!

We went over to Angela (my aunt) and Mikel's for dinner the other night and got a little bit of play time and dinner time with Ainsley before she went to bed. She's growing so fast and is such a beauty. She's already 8 months old! My Dad and Susan were in town so we were all taking turns holding Ainsley and helping Angela and Mikel get dinner ready. Angela was making some margaritas and Jon was holding Ainsley when Angela realized it was time for Ainsley to get into her pj's and get a diaper change. Angela asked Jon if he would take over the margaritas so she could take baby girl upstairs. Jon said, I can do whichever....I don't mind taking her upstairs. So, he did, and I just thought it was so cute. Angela looked at me after he walked off and she had a big smile and we both just thought it was so sweet...what a natural he is. So, he just got her all ready for bed and came back down with a happy baby. I know that when we are ready to have a baby that Jon is going to be the best dad ever! He's already such a natural with kiddos....it's exciting to think about!
Yay, it's dinner time!

Is it time for a doggie door?

I don't think we really would get a doggie door, but lately the thought enters my mind because of how much our pets like being in the back yard. Each morning when we get up, Boots is waiting by the back door to go outside. And on beautiful days like today, I just leave the back door cracked while I'm home and will usually find Kaiser and Boots soaking in the rays or relaxing in the shade.

Some shade time last week for Kaiser and Boots

Today, I found Kaiser basking in the sunlight and tried to take a few pics. He caught me though and I guess he felt busted or something because he got up and came inside. You can see his little progression... (click on the picture to make it bigger)
