Here are some of the things he has been up to the past month or so:
- Scooting around on his tummy all the time. Some might call it an "army crawl", but to me it's more of a scoot. Over the past month he has gotten faster and faster and he can definitely get wherever he wants to.
- He'll get on his knees and rock back and forth a few times and then will plop back down on his tummy. So I think we are very close to some official crawling. Yikes!!
- When he's on our big rug in living room (which we bought specifically with him in mind since we have so much tile), he immeadietely scoots over to the tile to play. He loves to slap the tile floors. So we have now made a little corner area for him in the living room on the tile and just put all of his toys there since that's where he'll end up anyway....why fight it, right?
- He can sit independently a little bit better. That has really improved this past couple of weeks.
- We buy him all of these cute toys and what does he want to play with most? The door stops, and TV remotes, and our tennis shoes. I bet most parents can relate to this phenomenon.
- We've tried all the veggies, some meats and most fruits. He really dislikes the meats. He isn't crazy about the green veggies, but he loves squash, sweet potatoes and carrots. We're still trying to figure out his preference with the fruits, but I have a feeling that bananas are going to be popular. He also loves oatmeal.
- I am still nursing and have been able to maintain the pumping at work to send bottles to day care. I'm taking that a week at a time now and hope to continue a little bit longer.
- He is asleep by 8pm and puts himself to sleep like such a big boy.
- He is a sporatic napper. He'll usually nap twice for his daycare provider for a total of 2-4 hours. Jon and I aren't as lucky and he'll usually nap twice for us for about 45 minutes a piece...maybe more if we are lucky.
- He is more curious about the cats and Kaiser and wants to touch them anytime they are near. All of our pets are great with him, thank goodness!
- We go on lots of walks and have been loving the Spring weather.
- We have a "johnny jump up" that we set up in the doorway inbetween our bathroom and bedroom and he likes to bounce around in that while we get ready. We also have an excersaucer that some friends lent us and he likes to hang in there in our bathroom when I'm getting dressed. It's like his little control station. Super cute.
- He hasn't said Mama anymore but says "Gaga" and "Dada" all the time.
- I'm guessing he weighs about 16.5 lbs right now
- He's wearing size 3 diapers and 6-9 month clothes.
- Starting to experience some stranger anxiety. Jon brought him up to my work yesterday and normally he'll let anyone hold him, but he wasn't the biggest fan of my co-workers holding him and he seemed a little scared until he went back to me or Jon.
- We are just head over heels for this boy :)

love this sweet big boy! :o) xxoo
