Trip to Gruene to see Shu Shu and Visits from P-Bear and JuJu

Last week, my mom and Gene were in San Antonio for a clay bird shooting tournament. On Thursday, my mom and and I met up halfway in Gruene to hang for the day. We went to one of Jon's favorite stores, Gruene Outfitters, had lunch at the Gristmill, checked out other cute shops and got cupcakes at Taryn's cousin's cupcake shop: The Grune Flour Cupcakery. If you are ever in that area, please go get a cupcake from them. They are AMAZING! Our day with Shu Shu went by way too fast but we had a great time. Two crazy things happened that day...after we ate at the Gristmill, we were walking into Gruene Hall to look around and we bumped into my Uncle Brian!! It was so fun to see him and for him to meet Hudson for the first time. The other crazy thing that happened I didn't find out about until that night...Jon was talking to his mom and asked what she had done that day and she said that she went to Gruene with Grandma and Aunt Terry! What a small world and what a bummer that we didn't know we were each there. At one point when my mom and I were walking down the sidewalk I had one of those moments where I thought I saw a car that looked like hers...and turns out that it was! We'll just have to meet up with Mimi in Gruene sometime soon since it's not that far of a drive for either one of us.

On Friday, Dad, Susan, Julie and Jarrett all came to town. This was the first time for Jarrett to meet Hudson and he was sooo excited to see him. Dad, Susan, Jarrett and Jon all have October birthdays so we had a little birthday dinner for them. Jarrett and Jon decided to have a cupcake eating contest. Well actually, they both stuffed their cupcakes in their mouth to eat in one bite. Typical boys....and I guess I better get used to it since I have a little dude now. :)

Saturday was Jon's 32nd birthday! We lounged around and had breakfast and then Dad and Susan headed back home. Then it was time to get busy and prepare for our Halloween Party (see pics in next post). The party was a great success and a ton of fun.

Sunday we got up and headed to Shady Grove for an early lunch with Julie and Jarrett before they headed back to Corpus. We had such a great Halloween weekend and I know Jon had a good birthday weekend!
