5 Months Old!

Hudson turned 5 months old last Thursday and here are a few highlights of the past month...

• Last week discovered that his first tooth was coming in on the bottom. And a few days ago I noticed the one next to it also starting to come in.
• He is sleeping from 8pm to about 7:30am! Hallelujah!!!
• He is taking about 2 naps a day...sometimes 3. They are so random though and sometimes will be 45 minutes and other times he'll sleep for 3 hours!
• We are SO HAPPY that we read some different books about sleep and made an effort a month ago to help him learn how to fall asleep on his own. The first week was hard and some tears were involved, but ever since then, it has been great. We can lay him down when he is sleepy and happy and he'll usually fall asleep within 5 or so minutes and usually he doesn't fuss at all. Sometimes, like tonight when he was probably a little tired from not having great naps today, he cried for awhile, but it is still not bad. All in all, I think we are blessed with a good sleeper and we are so proud of him, and also both feeling soooo much better during the day now that we are getting better rest.
• I am still nursing and have been able to keep up with pumping at work. I am SO happy and proud of myself for making it this long. I knew that I wanted to do it as long as possible, but I wasn't sure what it would be like once I went back to work. I still want to try and do it for as long as I can, but we'll just see how things keep going. There are days where it is super easy to pump at work and other days like today where it was hard because I had several appointments with customers.
• He laughs a lot, smiles all the time, blows rasberries a ton, grunts, squeals, squeaks and makes all kinds of cute baby noises.
• When you lay him on his back he almost immediately rolls over to his tummy and will spend a long time on his tummy now just playing or looking around at things
• He recently started to clasp his hands together...almost like he is clapping
• He is wearing size 2 diapers and wearing 3-6 month clothes
• We are practicing sitting up, but he's not stable at all yet
• Loves bath time. He kicks and plays in the water and has a blast
• Starting to show a little bit of stranger anxiety
• Holds his bottle on his own sometimes
• More and more interactive with his toys and shows preference towards certain toys
• His first tooth started coming in right at 5 months old (bottom right tooth)
• Started rice cereal right at 5 months old
• Still likes his pacifier at night time, but it usually will fall out and he'll sleep through the rest of the night without it
• Moves around his crib like a wild man...it's cute to watch him on the video monitor doing his tossing and turning
• He brings so much happiness to us everyday and we absolutely love being Hudson's Mom and Dad! The time just keeps on ticking by, and we are making sure to soak in and enjoy all of these wonderful moments.
