Babymoon in Cozumel

Last week we went on a fantastic trip to Cozumel, Mexico. We stayed at the Occidental Grand Cozumel Resort and really liked it. I am so glad we made the decision to get away before the baby gets here in September...and I would highly recommend to anyone having their first baby to do some type of trip beforehand. The second trimester is also such a good time...I feel so good right now and being pregnant caused no problems with the trip (other than having to get virgin drinks instead of the real deal!)

We really just spent most of our time relaxing and taking it easy at the resort and laying by the beach or pool and just reading our books. Jon did some snorkeling off the beach near our hotel and one afternoon we painted some pottery. We love to sleep in when we are on vacations and we definitely got caught up with some great rest! And thankfully, my tastebuds for drinking coffee are finally back! I love coffee, but throughout the pregnancy it has not sounded good at all. A couple weeks ago though I had some and it was good, so I bought some decaf at home and have been easing back into drinking it. I think a vacation without coffee just isn't right, so I was happy to be able to enjoy my decaf coffee each morning at breakfast during the trip. Each night we had dinner at a different restaurant at the resort and we had some great meals with fantastic service.

One day we did get out for an excursion. We went on a tour where we got to ride in jeeps and Jon drove ours. They took us snorkeling, to a Mayan ruin, a tequila place, lunch along the beach, to see some crocodiles and then to a light house. It was very fun and nice to see the pretty island of Cozumel. We upgraded our room to the Royal Club, which basically meant our room came with some extra perks and we are so glad we did. We had access to a separate restaurant that only was for people staying in one of the two royal club buildings and we even had our own smaller pool that we used a couple times. Instead of eating at the buffett for breakfast and lunch each day, we ate at that little restaurant and for most of the meals that we had there, we were the only people and got full attention from the very nice waitstaff. We also could order room service which was fun. They even turned down our sheets and brought us chocolates at night. On our last night after we got back from dinner, they had delivered champagne to our room which was very nice. And of course we had to have a toast, but don't worry...my glass just had a baby amount of champagne:)

All in all, we had a wonderful time and it was so nice to get away and relax without worrying or talking about work or things we need to do to get ready for the baby. But we did have some fun talking about the baby and how we are looking forward to his arrival soon. I've also been feeling him move around more often and Jon got to see my belly move from the baby for the first time! It made us both so happy that he got to see that movement a few different times!!

Here are some pics from our fun trip...
