Vanessa and Chad got married on this past Friday, June 19th in Fort Worth. Jon and I drove up on Thursday night and stayed with his good friend from growing up, Cris. We went out Thursday night and ran into the groom, Chad and his buddies. A good time was had until the bar kicked us out at 2am! Friday morning I went to Vanessa's bridal brunch that was so nice. The wedding was that evening at the Fort Worth Club downtown and it was beautiful. Vanessa looked gorgeous and the ceremony was very nice. A few tears were shed by both the bride and groom when she walked down the aisle...it was very sweet. The reception was great...wonderful food, awesome decor, great music and a ton of dancing! Our friend Dave even busted out a back flip on the dance floor! After we sent the happy couple off in their horse drawn carriage a big group went out and we saw a fun 70's/80's cover band. They had the big wigs, shiny spandex pants and everything. As if that wasn't enough, Jon, Cris and I stayed up till like 4am playing Rock Band at Cris' place. I love to play me some drums on Rock Band! Saturday was slow moving but Cris took us to a yummy brunch at a place called Taverna. Apparently there is one in Austin on 2nd street. We really liked it...especially the bottomless mimosas! Later on we headed to Dallas to stay with one of my best buds from high school, Casey. She and her husband, Daniel just bought a house and moved in a few days ago. We hung out by their pool and had a great time catching up. Then we headed home this morning because I had to be at work by 1pm. Needless to say, our late late nights of partying like we had this weekend are far fewer these days and I know we are ready to hit the sack and catch up on rest. It was an awesome weekend and we are soooo happy for the new Mr. and Mrs. Grinnell!
Oh yeah and to top it off, Brittany and Brent moved back to Texas last week and they were in Austin this weekend for Brent's cousin's wedding. On their way home today I was able to meet up with them for a quick hello and hug in the parking lot of Target! I'm so excited for them to get settled into their house in San Angelo and to be back in Texas!
