Strawberry Abita Beer!

Almost a year ago I found a new passion while in New Orleans for our friend's Dave and Christina's wedding. They introduced us to the local beer, Abita. But even better than the Abita Amber was the Harvest Lager or Strawberry Abita that is made in the springtime because apparently Louisiana is a big strawberry state.

Anyway, this beer is absolutely delicious. Once we got home from their wedding, Jon and I found it at Whole Foods and bought a couple six packs. The next time we went up to Whole Foods, they were no longer carrying it because it is a seasonal beer. Needless to say the time of year is here again and we were ready to stock up, so I called Whole Foods the other day to check their supply and they held two cases for us. So last night was yummy beer night! The only sad thing to this story is that our friend Christina also had the same craving and she went all over Austin yesterday trying to find some Strawberry Abita. When she got to Whole Foods, the lady told her some guy just bought the last two cases. Christina then said I think I may know who it was and the lady said, well his name was Jon! Oops...sorry Christina! Come over and we'll share with you! And thanks for introducing it to us last year!
