Julie and Jarrett's wedding was awesome this weekend! I'm sure for anybody who has either planned their own wedding or been closely involved with someone else's planning, you know that after it is over there are feelings of happiness, exhaustion, lots of sentimental feelings and a little sadness too because it's all over. I'm coming down off that emotional high and really can't believe how quickly it came and went! I haven't quite figured out what I'm going to do with my spare time now! I had such a wonderful time helping plan all of Julie's showers, the bachelorette party and helping her make decisions or just being there to listen. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful sister and friend. She and I know we are so lucky to have such a close friendship...not all sisters have that. I am proud of her and Jarrett and know they love each other so dearly and are going to have a wonderful marriage with many years of happiness ahead of them! (And lots of babies too someday!)
The week home was great. Wednesday night my mom had Jarrett and his immediate family and our immediate family over for dinner so everyone could get to know each other a little better. (Jarrett's dad lives in Alaska, so my parents had not ever met him). We had a great dinner and told lots of funny stories about Jarrett and Julie growing up! Thursday, us girls had massages and then manicures and pedicures. The boys played golf Thursday, Friday AND Saturday! On Friday a bunch of girls met up at The Cactus so we could put on the chair covers, sashes, and candle centerpieces. Great teamwork ladies! The rehearsal went well and then Jarrett's family threw a great rehearsal dinner afterward! It was a good chance for everyone to spend some quality time together before the big day! On Saturday, mom's friend Debra threw us a bridal breakfast at her home that was very special with stuffed frech toast and wonderful orange smoothie drinks! Then it was on to makeup and hair. We all met up at The Cactus around 3pm to get dressed and start some pictures. The ceremony was at 5:30 and went so smoothly. Julie was stunning! I can't wait to see pictures from the photographer, Emily, because from where I was standing during the ceremony, I was right behind Julie's shoulder and never got to see any of her facial expressions. I did see Jarrett's face the entire time and he was cute and shed some tears! So sweet... The reception was great. Good food, yummy cake, and lots of dancing with tons of family and friends! I have a few pictures from the reception, but once the photographer puts hers on her website I'll make sure to post her site. We sent Jarrett and Julie off in perfect Jarrett style....they drove away in a golf cart! Now, Julie and Jarrett are in Costa Rica on their honeymoon, and she sent us an email yesterday letting us know they made it there okay and also that they were headed to their upgraded "Royal Service" room that comes with a butler!! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Eledge!!

ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!! Julie was ment to be a bride (and a mom soon I hope!) It was great seeing you, although I felt like we were rushing around trying to say hi to everyone before we headed out with Carter. You looked fabulous too!
