Hudson's Nursery

I've been meaning to post these pics for awhile and I thought I should go ahead and do it before Hudson decides to show up! First are pictures of Hudson's almost totally finished room. The only thing I'm waiting on now is a custom mobile I ordered from Etsy that should be here in the next week or two. It hangs from the ceiling and I can't wait to see it! After I get that put up then I will also put one of those rub-on quotes onto the wall about babies. Oh, and my mom bought the valance that matches the bedding and I just need to get a rod to hang it up. And then we'll be all done! We had a really good time working on the room together and it was nice to both be creative. I'm lucky that Jon liked my ideas for the colors and fabric and he took his first stab at doing chair rail and crown moulding and did a great job! Now all we need is a sweet baby boy!!

I will probably hang the mobile toward left end of the crib and then put the quote on the wall toward the right end of the crib

We bought a really comfy glider/recliner, but are putting it in the living room, so I wanted to have at least a small chair in his room too and we were able to take this one off Julie and Jarrett's hands

The furniture came with wooden knobs and we changed them out with these brushed nickel knobs and like the look a ton better

Eventually I may try to sand/stain or paint the bookshelves a darker brown to match the other furniture, but for now that project is low on the priority list.

I had a hard time finding decorations for boy's that I liked, so I made some on my own. I got everything I
needed at Hobby Lobby for these projects.

Now here are the before pictures of this room...first as our guest bedroom when we moved in almost 4 years ago and then after I changed decorations for the guest room last summer and then all of our progress pictures while we were changing it to Hudson's room.

The room when we first moved in

After I changed things around last summer

Going through presents from one of our baby showers

Checking out different paint samples. (So glad we went with the green on top)

Time to prime

Painting begins and some shots of our insanely messy house filled with all with baby stuff

Painting is done and now chair rail and crown go up

Finishing up crown and bringing in furniture

Time to put the crib together. (He really wanted to have surprised me and put the crib together on his own, but I really really wanted to help, so we stayed up one night until 12 or 12:30 putting the crib together and getting the bedding on)

Lots of diapers Jon got at the dude's bbq he had at our house. Thanks guys!

Putting the swing together

We've had a good time putting all of Hudson' gear together, getting his room ready and other various nesting projects. We don't have much left to do now and it's nice to just take it easy and wait :)
