This past weekend we went to Corpus Christi to see Julie and Jarrett. We had the BEST time ever! It was so nice to have an entire weekend with them with no real agenda. It has been awhile since Jon and I were able to visit them together for a weekend and we wanted to make sure we got to do that before Hudson's arrival in September.
Friday night we pulled in to town around 9pm and headed straight to a concert to see the Spazmatics...an awesome 80's cover band. Our cousin Ashley and her boyfriend Matt came with us too. We had so much fun and danced the night away and sweated up a storm in the Corpus Christi humidity! That night when we got home, we stayed up until like 2:30 talking and we were all cracking up b/c we normally would all have been in bed for sure by 11 or 12. I think we were just craving some good catching up and hang out time with each other. Julie and Jarrett just moved into a new apartment last week and in true Julie style, their place already looks like they've lived there for a month. Everything is all pretty and decorated! She rocks!
Saturday morning the guys took their Kayaks out to go fishing and Julie showered me with pancakes and coffee before we headed to Kohl's to do a little shopping. Or I could say a lot of shopping :)
We met up with the boys and Ashley and Matt at the beach afterward and had a great afternoon. Some of Julie's friends, Gene and Michelle and our other cousin Stephanie also met us out there. It was nice to chill and enjoy the beach with everybody.
That night we went out to dinner with the cousins and barely made it home before we all crashed hard! We were exhausted!! Sunday we had brunch at a cozy little diner and then headed over to our great friends Joe and Vanessa's house to meet their 2 day old baby girl, Isabela Sofia!! She is so perfect and beautiful!! We were soooo lucky that they had her the weekend we were there so we got to meet her. We are thrilled for them and they are going to be fantastic parents!
All in all, this was one of the best weekends we've had in a really long time. We love you Julie and Jarrett!!
