Come Home Spencer!

Our cat Spencer got out on Thursday and he is still missing. We think what happened is that he went outside when Kaiser was in the backyard before I went to work. I didn't know he had gone outside and must have locked him out. Just so happens we had someone come and do some work on our yard that day and we are thinking that Spence must have gotten spooked by that and either jumped the fence or ran out of the backyard when the guy opened the gate. We didn't realize he was gone until Thursday night around 10:30pm. Normally when we get home from work he does his own thing...hides in the closet or under the bed. He usually comes out to be social with us when we are getting into bed. So when we were getting ready for bed, we couldn't find him and we looked all over the house and finally figured out that he was not in the house. Of course, I freaked out. Spencer is my baby....he is so spoiled and needy. The thought of him roaming the neighborhood being scared just makes my heart ache. I also know that being pregnant does not help with the intense emotions....the tears were definitely flowing hard. We made a bunch of signs and put them up at the mailboxes and on light posts. This was at like midnight. We then drove around and walked around calling his name and looking for him. We finally called it a night around 1am or so. Yesterday I was still a wreck so I came home from work early to look for him again. Laura is such an amazing friend and actually printed more flyers for me while I was at work and went door to door and put them on all of our neighbor's doors and the street behind us too. I walked around and called for him and talked to any neighbors that were outside. When Jon got home from work he did the same. We posted something on our neighborhood website too and called to check with the animal shelter. We put out food and water on the front porch and back porch. If you have any other ideas of things we could do to help get our kitty back, please let me know. We appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts of him returning home safely. He is so loved and a special part of our family and just has to come home safely to us soon. I am having to choose to stay positive and hopeful that he will use his cat instincts to find his way home or that someone will pick him up and call us. Staying positive and knowing he will come home is a much better alternative than worrying and freaking out. So, it is happy and positive thoughts that Spencer makes it home very very soon.

I think this is my favorite picture of him ever...what a great model he was posing with the remote and beer!

Spence when he was a kitten

You can tell by those huge paws that he was going to grow up to be a big boy!
