We took Hudson to the Circus last Saturday. I was hopeful that he would like it, but he was a little overwhelmed, and honestly we weren’t that surprised. He liked the elephants and watching people during the pre-show, but once the actual show got started and they turned the lights off and the noises and music got really loud he was kind of freaked out. He was super clingy and whiny so we took him into the hall a couple times and then decided to go find something else to do that would be more fun for him. I’m sure he will really like it in a few years.
During the Pre-Show…pretty happy and interested in watching the kids get rides on the elephants.
I got to see the tigers and motorcycle act while Jon had him in the lobby. After that we decided to bail.
So, our intention was to go to this new bouncy house place to let him play, but when we got there, they were having private birthday parties all day. So, we wandered into the kid’s haircut place called Pigtails and Crewcuts and decided to get Hudson his first haircut. It may not sound like that big of a deal, but for us it was. We had been planning to just let it continue to grow for awhile so he could have cute, shaggy, surfer boy hair while he is little. BUT, the back had started to grow much faster than the front and we were quickly entering the Mullet Zone. I’d already received a few comments from my Mom and sister about mullets and that wasn’t sitting well with me. So, on a whim, we got his haircut and he was great! He sat in a fire truck and was patient and acted like quite the big boy. After it was done we are both really glad we had it done. They even saved some locks of hair and took a picture of us. I highly recommend that place….they did a great job!
Hudson was scoping out his ride and he was pretty pumped up about it.
Okay, Okay….so maybe it was turning into a mullet very quickly….I guess I was in denial :) And also, I think this picture looks more extreme because of his shirt collar…..or maybe that’s just more denial :)

Some new words he’s learned this past week:
Cow, Cold, Shoes, Hat, Love You (uh oo), Mimi (NeNe), Trees (tees), Up and Down (Uh….Dow).
With Up and Down, he’s learned that from when we sing a song and I say that. I will go up on my toes and then squat down as I say up and down. So, just yesterday when he started to do this, he would walk around saying, “Uh….Dow…..Uh…..Dow…” and he would do the up and down movement at the same time. SO smart! :)
