This was Jon's second year to participate in the Austin Oyster Race, which is an Urban Adventure Race. He is on a team with our friends Dave and John. The race is about 4-5 hours and includes running, biking, kayaking, and lots of problem solving tasks. It kind of reminds me of the Amazing Race where they get a clue and have to go somewhere and complete some type of task and then go wherever the next clue takes them. They have a transition area that they leave their bikes and belongings, so I came down there for a couple hours to watch with Dave's wife Christina. Not 20 minutes into the race it started raining! And it was pretty chilly. Poor guys ran about 11 miles total and biked around 12 miles and were soaked to the bone! I had to leave for work at 10:00 so I didn't get to see them finish, but I know they had a great time and plan to do it again next year. I am very proud of the 3 of them for their great job and hard work!
